Digital Elevation Models (DEMs)
DEMs are constructed from gridded elevation data derived from existing topographic
maps in most cases, although they also can be constructed from stereo-photograph
pairs. USGS has two general qualities of DEMs available: Those constructed
from 1:250,000-scale maps and those constructed from 1:24,000-scale maps.
Horizontal resolution is 130 m and 30 m, respectively.
