<abstract>
A new bathymetric map of Englebright Lake, Yuba-Nevada Counties,
California is compared to 1939 elevations captured from a pre-dam
topographic survey to determine how much sediment has accumulated
in the reservoir in the past 60 years. A longitudinal profile
along the entire length (thalweg) of the reservoir and cross-sections
across the reservoir at seven points illustrate the pre-dam and
present bottom profiles. Calculations of the total volume of
sediment impounded by the dam for eight regions of the reservoir
are presented.

The bathymetry data were collected along continuous boat tracks
at a 2 second sample interval. Pre-dam topography was digitized
from archival survey records. Bathymetric and elevation models
were created at 5-meter grid cell, and the models differenced to
calculate sediment thickness and volume.
